Biography

Ruth was born 1 Feb 1694 in Bradford, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Richard Kimball (1659-1733) and Sarah (Spafford) Kimball (abt.1662-1714).[1]

On 7 March 1716 Ruth married Richard Peabody (1691-1769) in Bradford, Massachusetts. [2] Their children, born in Boxford:

  3. Abigall, d. Richard and Ruth, Oct. 10, 1722 p. 62
  4. Sarah, d. Richard and Ruth, June 5, 1725 p. 67
  5. Richard, s. Richard and Ruth, Jan. 15, 1727-8 p. 67 – died young
  6. Pegge, d. Richard, bp. June 29, 1729 p. 66

  2. Ruth, b. 21 Dec 1736 [4]

Ruth's husband Richard died in 1769. Ruth died at age 76 on 15 January 1771, in Pomfret, Connecticut.[5] Ruth was buried in South Cemetery in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut.[6]

Research Notes

The death records indicate a year of birth as 1695. Her grave stone states that she died at age 77 in 1771, which would indicate a birth year of approximately 1694. The Vital Records of Bradford, Massachusetts, Page 96 indicate a birth date of Feb. 1, 1693-94, hence 1694 under modern dating.

Census and cemetery estimations do not consider birth month only year giving false year of birth. Poor-177

Kimball-279 and Kimball-254 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles appear to represent the same individual. It is highly doubtful that 2 children, sharing parents and having the same first name, would be born 20+ years apart and die on the same date decades later. Kimball-279 appears to have an incorrect date of birth, which more represents the date of marriage as recogonized in Kimball-254.
