Mourning was living when she was named in William's will in 1756.

Notes

Confusion and Conflicts

William Little listed his wife Mourning in his will dated 1 Mar 1756 in Beaufort Co. North Carolina. [1] In 30 years of searching, I, Jane Murtishaw Lindsey, have found no record that includes a surname for Mourning. A marriage between William, who they say was born 1685, and Mourning is found in Ancestry U.S. and International Marriage Records [2]. Subsequent viewers of this entry have added the name Kimbrough as an alternative. No source for the original record or the addition of the name Kimbrough has been provided.

The well-respected Mayflower Families Through Five Generations [3] states that William Little, Colony of North Carolina Attorney General had a son William who lived in Edgecombe Co. North Carolina on 30 April 1752. According to Mr. Wakefield, this William Little Jr. first married "---Kimbrough, dau. of Solomon Kimbrough."

Other sources have Miss Kimbrough's name as Mourning or Morning. See William Little Jr.. Deeds and our William's will have shown William's wife to be named Mourning, but there is no source as of yet to provide a surname for her.

Still more sources have Mourning Kimbrough listed as a Native American, born well before 1700. And others state Morning(Mary Ann) Kimborough was born in 1689 and state she passed away in 1756.

In summary, while it is possible that Mourning, wife of William Little who died in Beaufort Co. North Carolina in 1756, was a Kimbrough, no evidence has yet been provided.

She passed away after 1756.

Unknown-447862 and Unknown-305602 appear to represent the same person because: Sorry, I did not see a suggestion for Unknown-305602 when I created Unknown-447862 recently.

Where is the evidence that Morning who was married to William Little had the Kimbrough surname?
Kimborough-1 and Kimbrough-183 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicates. additional sources added and additional parents data and children data

Could not have died before 1700 if her son was born in 1715.
