Biography

Deeds in Edgecombe Co., NC,: On 7 Nov 1735, Wm. Winston & Rebecca his wife of Hanover Co., VA, sold to Marmaduke Kimbrough, 5 shillings and an annual ear of corn for 1,170 acres in Edgecombe.
On 23 Feb 1749,Marmaduke Kimbrough sold some of the land "part of 1170 acres sold to Marmaduke Kimbrough by Henry (sic) Winston of Hanover Co., Va., and Rebekah his wife and Edward Curd of Henrico Co., VA".
On 14 Aug 1751, Marmaduke Kimbrough sold more of the land "part of 1100 (sic) acres conveyed to the sd. Kimbrough from William Winston and Rebeckah his wife of Hanover Co., Va. and Edward Curd and Mary his wife of Henrico Co., Va."

NOTE: William Winston, grandfather of this William Winston, back in 1699 had been patenting land jointly with one of the John Kimbroughs. ____________________

Kimbrough-357 and Kimbrough-194 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be duplicates, based on the wife -- Mary -- and the children of the same name. The dates are off by quite a bit, though, so some confirmation of the correct dates is needed.
