) Refugees of Long Island; Page 267, 268 Captain Samuel Beebe was the Captain of a ship which he used to move a part of the effects of the following Refugees from Southold, NY to Stonington, Conn.: Capt. Thomas Wickham, James King; Daniel Moore; Joseph Topping; Aaron Isaacs Jr., Burnet Miller; and Capt. Henry Halsey.
) Refugees of Long Island; Page 436: James King, son of William, moved from Oyster Ponds to Stonington in 1776. He was moved over by Capts. Elisha Morris, Peter Manwaring, Samuel Beebe, Nathaniel Dyer, and Joseph Vail. His claim was paid to David Gelston. He may have served in either the Line or the Levies ("New York in the Revolution," p. 95); or in the 2nd Westchester.
Census of 1776: males above 5=1, under 16=1; females above 16=2; under 16=3. James King was born 16 July 1718; married 30 Oct 1751 Katherine Sheffield; removed to Poland, Herkimer Co. NY.; and died there 25 Sept 1802 at the age of 84. He is buried in Poland with three of his children:

) Abigail King; born in 1760; married Amos Beebe; died 12 July 1803; aged 42.
