Biography

Named in the Chitwood Family Bible - Do not confuse with James M King son of William Harrison and Martha (Hauge) King who died in 1874.[1][2]

Born prior to Wm J. King's marriage to Elizabeth Hicks 23 Jan 1849 in Tennessee or Mississippi - May be the son of Rebecca Tatom or could be the son of a different unknown wife. 1869 Dickson County Court Documents state Rebecca's son was named Joseph.still researching, maybe 1869 Lawyers saw a document that had Jas but read Jos

1850 United States Census James King in household of William J King, Northern Division, Marshall, Mississippi, United States[3]

In Oct. 1854, William J. King was appointed guardian of his own son, James King. Bond was set at $1400. Securities were George W. Kincheloe and George Grimes. James King, minor, was due money from Thomas McNeilly, administrator of the estate of James Tatom of Dickson, Co., Tennessee.[4]
