Biography

Nancy Ann King was born 28 May 1795 in Montgomery County, Virginia. She is the daughter of Robert King and Elcybeth Rayburn.

Marriages:

She married (1) James Trigg about 1816. He was the son of Daniel Trigg & Anne Smith. No marriage has been found.

She is identified as Nancy Trigg when she married (2) Charles C Balfour 26 Dec 1822 in Wythe County, Virginia.[1]

Nancy is identified as the wife of Charles Balfour, and an heir of Robert King Sr, in a Chancery case involving her father's estate:

(LVA Chancery 1853-015) Geo CLARE vs Heirs of Robert KING[2]
As early as 1805, lots were laid out for the town of Christiansburg, many purchased by Robert KING. King owned Lot #27 which adjoined one owned by Charles TAYLOR. In 1818 Geo CLARE purchased Lot #27 from Robert KING. Problem with deed… Because he has died, CLARE wishes to procure a conveyance from his children and heirs: Joseph, Robert & James KING; Charles (Nancy) BELFOR, Lewis (Elisabeth) MARSHALL, heirs of Peggy EDMUNSON: Walter D (Ellen) BLAIR; John, James, Henry & Margaret EDMUNDSON.

Death:

Nancy Ann King Trigg Balfour died 19 Aug 1854 in McMinn County, Tennessee. She is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Athens.[3]
