Godfrey was born about 1781. He married Rhoda Sanford at Tiverton, Newport, Rhode Island - parents of Ephraim, Alfred, Abigail, Content, Andrew, Esther, Abner, Patience and Nancy Louise King. He passed away in 1861 and is buried in the King Cemetery in Tiverton, Newport County, Rhode Island.[1]
His grave memorial says he was pensioned under Captain Cook. I think that was his possible father or uncle. There is a Godfrey born about 1750 that was the person in the U.S., Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889-1970 [2]
