William Fristoe King was born on 1 January 1766 in Monmouth County, New Jersey Colony of Great Britain. He was likely the sixth of nine children for the Rev. Joshua S. King and his wife Martha Susan Fristoe. His middle name was borrowed from his mother.[1][2]
In 1791 William married Jane Harvey who was born and raised in Monmouth.[2][4] They settled into Monmouth County and raised: Joseph Harvey, Margaret, William Henry, Elizabeth Ann, Marty Ann, Amy, Catharine, Hannah Jane, Anna, and Sarah Jane.
The family moved from New Jersey to New York around 1815.
Jane died on 11 October 1846 in New York state.[4] William died on 5 October 1850 in Phelps, Ontario County, New York.[1]
