Biography

Francis King was a Virginia colonist.

Francis was likely born in approximately 1589 to Captain John King and Ann Daniel of Chestershire, England.^[1] He passed away about 1653 in Virginia Colony.

He married Dorothy Aston of Sir Walston Aston. He later married Elizabeth Brooke.^[2]

Immigration to Virginia

Fra. Kinge was listed as a headright for Capt. Giles Brent in a patent recorded 4 May 1653. Most online family trees believe that Fra. Kinge is this Francis King.^{[3] [4]}

Francis King/Kinge is said to have purchased land in 1668 in Stafford County, Virginia. (Source for this has not yet been located.)

"William" has been removed as first name for Francis. No record yet located uses "William." Only "Francis" is found in sources. If documentation is found proving the use of "William" as given name, it can be restored. (Strutton-11 14:36, 12 July 2022 (UTC))
