Claudia was born the 1st of May 1940 at Mercy Hospital in Merced, California.
Claudia attended Orland High School from 1955 to 1958. She was a member of Teachers of Tomorrow, T.O.T., and the science club in 1956 while a sophomore. She was a leading member of the science club and a member of the drill team while a junior; She was art editor for the Trojan school paper and 1957 yearbook. She graduated Valedictorian of Orland High School.
She studied for a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry at University of California, Davis; She graduated with a Bachelor's of Art in Art History with honors from University of California, Berkeley in 1962 and was a member of Kappa Phi there; she graduated with a Master's in Art History from University of Indiana Bloomington. She completed the work for a Ph.D. in Art History at the University of Indiana Bloomington but was denied due to sexism; her Ph.D. thesis is "Picasso and Primitivism" on Picasso's cultural appropriation of African culture in the creation of cubism. She participated in a successful class action lawsuit against that university. Though this still derailed her from the terminal track for tenure as a university professor.
She married Douglas Mclean and had two children, Kia and Kendra Mclean. She divorced Douglas Mclean.
She was a long time adherent to Johrei which she helped establish churches, temples, and sacred sites in northern California including Shasta Mountain.
Claudia self-published the book, "Life Mastery", about self-esteem.
She taught special education and was a substitute teacher in the tricounty area, Butte, Glenn, and Tehama counties, in northern California.
She married John Zalais between 2000 and 2006.
Claudia King passed away the 19th of February 2006.
