Biography

Jonathan Gilbert King was born August 21, 1874 in Franklin Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, United States.[1] His parents are Robert Woodside King and Eliza Jane Brown. [2]

At age 5, on June 1, 1880, he was living on a farm with his parents and eight siblings in Franklin Township, Columbiana, Ohio, United States. [3]

On the June 15, 1900 census of Franklin Township, he is shown as an unmarried schoolteacher living on his parents' farm with two siblings. [4]

On May 20, 1912, John married Wilhelmina (Hibbard) Jahn in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington, USA. This is his first marriage, and her second.[5] Their only child is

On January 13, 1920, he is living with wife, their daughter Ina, and a stepson Lester in Hartline, Grant County, Washington.[6]

As of April 12, 1930, he was living on the farm he owned in Buckley, Pierce County, Washington.[7]

On the April 12, 1940 census, he is shown as a full-time teacher at a public school, still living on a farm in Buckley,Washington. He had completed 2 years of college.[8]

At age 65, Jonathan died February 24, 1955 in Marion County, Oregon, USA.[9] He is buried in Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward, Alameda County, California.[10]
