Family from Genealogy of the Jenks Family 189 ELISHA6 JENKS ( Pedigree: Jesse,6 John* William3 Joseph* Joseph1) was born at Cumberland, R. I, June 27, 1774 and died Nov. 13, 1840 at Jenksville, N. Y. He married, at Cumberland, ANNA KING, born Sept. 27, 1771 and died June 15, 1854.

Diligent search has not revealed Anna King's ancestry, but Mr. Nelson Jenks who made a study of the matter was of the opinion that she was of German descent.

However, the King family was numerous in Rhode Island.

Her father has been incorrectly named as Phineas King.

The family lived for a time in Cheshire, Mass, where the first two children were born and sometime after 1797 moved to Berkshire, Tioga Co, N. Y, where Elisha lived on lot #300.

His cousin Michael was a settler in the same region.

Anna (King) Jenks was born on 27 Sep 1771 in Rhode Island.^[1] She married Elisha Jenks. Elisha JENKS b: 27 Jun 1774 in Cumberland, Providence, Rhode Island. They were the parents of Calvin Lewis Jenks and six other children. She died 15 June 1854.^[2]
