Research Notes
Henry has sources for the baptism and marriage given here but they are unlikely to be for the same person as they are 145 miles apart and the surname is a fairly common one. He is on over 1500 Ancestry trees many of which give the marriage here 26 May 1634 to Ann Maunder as Yorkshire, no town given, but the only sources attached on these same trees are for the marriage in Mickleton Gloucestershire.[1] This is the exact same date and names, and Maunder is not a common surname. It is likely that Mickleton Gloucestershire has been confused with Mickleton Yorkshire ( now in Durham) at some time in the past.
Wife Ann is said to be born in Devon but there is no evidence this is the same person who married in Gloucestershire.
The most likely parents for the first attached child Henry junior are Henry King and Jane Skinner who married in Sheffield 1 June 1625 just before the first child was born.[2] There is a burial of an unbaptised infant on 16 April 1626 before Henry junior. Jane died about the beginning of January 1631 and was buried on 8 January 1630/1631 at Sheffield.[3]
