↑ Source: #S2 Page: 2010 death of Diana DeVine Felt Quality or Certainty of Data: 3 Data: Text: DIANA FELT Diana DeVine Felt "Di" Diana Felt died peacefully during the early morning hours of January 23, 2010. She was born in Salt Lake City on February 28, 1924, to Paul and Vilate Pierpont DeVine. Diana attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah in 1944, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. In 1944, she married William L. "Bill" Felt, who preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by her children: Sandra F. (David) Haughey, David D. Felt (Lynda Wendel), Paul D. Felt (Carol) and Suzanne F. (Jack) Stahl, all of Salt Lake City. Also survived by seven grandchildren: Jack E Stahl III, Matthew Stahl, Stephen Stahl, Brian Felt, Katie Felt; all Salt Lake City, Jennifer Haughey King (Kevin), Park City and Kirsten Haughey Hardy (Douglas), Okinawa, Japan and two great-grand children: Sarah and Ryan King, Park City. In addition to raising her family and spending time with her many friends, Diana gave time to volunteer for public service. For these contributions she later received the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Achievement Award in 1974, the Distinguished Service Award of the Utah Society for Public Administration in 1986 and the University of Utah Emeritus Award in 1988. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Junior Leagues of America and on many local boards and advisory committees. During her many years of service she also served on the Boards of the Town Club, YWCA, Community Chest, United Way, Sarah Daft Home, Utah Technical Community College Business School, and SLCC Grand Theater. During her professional years, Diana was the Director of Volunteer Services for the Community Services Council; the Consultant for Volunteer Services at National Head Start; and the Director of Public Affairs for KCPX-TV. While at KCPX-TV she was an "on-air" personality hosting a locally produced community service program called, "There is a Doctor in the House". She then moved on to Salt Lake County government, serving as the Executive Director of Granite Mental Health, then as the Assistant Director for Human Services. Diana led the way for women to hold high positions in County Government when she was appointed the Director of Administrative Services for Salt Lake County. She retired from the County in 1986. Most recently she volunteered at Guadalupe School and was on the Advisory Board of the U. of U. College of Behavioral and Social Science. Diana loved and supported the arts and attended the performances of Ballet West, Utah Symphony, and several theatre companies. In one of her last conversations she said, "I've had a wonderful life, and I have a wonderful family." A memorial service will be held at the Ft. Douglas Chapel (110 South Fort Douglas Boulevard) on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the Guadalupe School, your favorite Performing Arts Group, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, or the American Diabetes Association .
