Biography
Leading Seaman Ivor King was Killed in Action during World War I.
Ivor Francis was born in 1889. His birth was registered in Gloucester and his mother's maiden name was Jackson. [1]
In 1891 Ivor was one of 7 children living in Gloucester with parents Henry and Sarah. Henry was a Tanner. [2]
In 1906 Ivor joined the Navy. [3]
In 1915 Ivor married Gertrude E McGuigan. Their marriage was registered in Sculcoates, yorkshire. [4]
Just 2 years later, on 2nd October 1917 Ivor was killed by a Mine Explosion. [3] He is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval memorial as Leading Seaman on HMS 'Brisk'. [5][6]
