Hello Tina,

Can you please go back into G2G and choose a team for the Connect-a-thon? Thank You

I'd love to but I can't figure out how to do that. I got an e-mail from Mindy Silva and it seems I was placed into the Southern Super Sweepers.

Hi Tina,

I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker to track a change during last month's Sourcerers' Challenge. Please consider officially joining us for the Sourcerers' Challenge. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sourcerers Project page.

No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included on the Tracking Sheet even if you do not register.

Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

Debi - Sourcerers' Challenge Facilitator

PS If the link does not work, you can find a working one in the public comment I left on your profile

Hi Tina,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your tags the US Southern Colonies Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace, so this is the last message.

How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Cindy ~ WikiMessenger

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

Hello

You may have been hard at work getting connected to family members who are already here and adding those who were missing. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now.

There's a fast and easy way to access those profiles using the Watchlist. So, this week we're going to look at How to Manage Your Watchlist.

Please let one of us know if you have questions! Just ask on my page. We want to help!

Hi Tina,

You've been a WikiTree member for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better.

You are probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. Since collaboration isn't always easy, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

I'm always happy to answer questions!

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour!

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

Please let me know if you have questions. :-) If the above link does not work from your email, please go to your profile in the public comments and it will work from there.

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

Well done for merging. I was too nervous to do that for weeks after I started. Then the answer you are looking for it how to approach profile managers and what to do if they are unresponsive. The link is below. This will eventually lead to you being able to edit those profiles. :-)

Hi Tina, if someone else has already created your parent's profiles you will need to merge the profiles you created with them. Information on how to do this can be found here. The merger will either go through automatically after a certain period of time or will be confirmed by you and the other profile manager straight away. Once the merge is complete you will become a profile manager of that merged profile and will be able to edit it to correct the information.

If you have trouble with unresponsive profile managers that you need to collaborate there is a process you can follow to resolve the issues. Info on how to do this can be found here.

Hope this helps,

Susie :-)
