When May Elizabeth King was born on June 24, 1886, in Quincy, Illinois, her father, Nicholas, was 36, and her mother, Mary, was 33. She married Albert Carl Fischer in 1910. It is unclear if she died and Albert remarried or if May changed her name to Jeanne J. Fischer.
Notes
These notes are left from previous research:
Research:Albert apparently had two wives, the first May Eliz King, who was on the 1920 Chicago census with him, Marian and Albert Jr., and Jeanne J. who was named as survivor in his obit. in the 1930 Chicago census, his wife was June, but info matched May's, so I think this was census error. I've searched for obits looking for both wives in Washington with no luck; also SSN Death Indexes. Looking for a Jeanne J. ? in Illinois in 1900, 1910 census was negative. If the June is Jeanne J., she was born in Illinois, so Albert would have married her before he left for Washington. So, what happened to May? Divorced or died? Didn't find her in Illinois death indexes. All we have left is to check the directories in Seattle this April and the 1940 census. I can also try and find Jeffrey Corlis. Haven't seen his SSDI come up yet.
Am in communication with Amanda Corliss and she says Jeanne J. and May Eliz. are the same. Ask her why so many names and if she has proof of death. She says she died 7 Jul 1971 in Aberdeen, Grays Harbon, WA. and I have 2 Jul 1959 in Seattle (I have no source for mine)
