Andrew Kenney lived at the old Israel Kenney homestead at the mouth
of the Oromocto stream until about the year 1825. An entry in the records
at the Court House, Oromocto, tells of the sale of land in the Parish of
Burton by Andrew and Martha Kenney in the year 1822. It is probably that
they were then disposing of their property with the intention of joining
Andrew's brothers and sisters in making a new home farther up the Saint
John River. A few years later they became pioneer settlers at Greenfield,
Carleton County, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Two of
their children were born at Oromocto and the remainder at Greenfield.
Susannah Hood Kinney was visiting back home in Topsfield, Mass. when she gave birth to Andrew. His father, Israel Kinney had already passed by drowning Dec 24 previous year 1791.
