Solomon was the son of David Kirby (born 14 Jul 1738 in Virginia) and Elizabeth Tarrant (born 7 Jun 1742 in Virginia). He was bequeathed a share in his father’s estate, 26 April 1811. [1]
The surname of KERBY and KIRBY are used interchangeably. Information on his family comes from the reminiscences of his granddaughter, Martha Elizabeth “Mat” Kerby (published in Alexander).
