He is buried at Old Salem Cemetery in Welch, Al. I visited there in April 2006 and took pictures of his headstone. There is no church or any building near the burial place. There are a lot of Pittmans buried there, and a lot of Pittmans lived in Rock Mills. I did not find any evidence of either of his wives being buried there. 1st wife was Mary Ann Robinson, and 2nd wife was Milie Liles and I have them in the 1880 census as living in Bacon Level, Randolph Co, Al.

Are there records on his service in the Confederate Army? I have found a record on Fold3 for a P. D. Kirby in the 18th Alabama. There is only one card and it indicates the person died in hospital in 1862. If this is accurate he could not be the same Pleasant B. Kirby.

Pleasant was married in Troup County, Georgia in 1859. Where was he in 1860?
