Biography

Goodspring Kirby was born about 1762, in Halifax, British Colonial Virginia, to parents John Kirby and Jemima (Bolling) Kirby

Goodspring married John Harvey. Children from this marriage were:

  1. Samuel Harvey.
  2. Henry (Hal) Harvey was born about 1780 and died on 15 Jun 1861 about age 81.
  3. John Harvey was born about 1784 in Virginia and died about 1850 in Trezevan, Carroll, Tennessee about age 66.
  4. Joseph Harvey was born about 1792 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, died on 1 Feb 1884 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina about age 92, and was buried in King's Graveyard, Whitestone, South Carolina.
  5. William B. Harvey was born about 1793 in Virginia.

I've not been able to find any real evidence that Goodspring's middle name (or nickname) was Martha. Also, this profile says she died in 1830 but then lists an 1840 census for Martha Harvey. Martha was a common name then, as was Harvey.
