Biography

John was born in 1845. John Kirby ... He passed away in 1932. [1]

Veteran of 3rd Artillery, Palmetto Battalion, Company C, Culpepper's Battery, Confederate States Army.

Died in Charlotte NC at the home of his daughter, Sobrinny "Mink" Kirby James, according to a 1983 letter I have from Mink's daughter, Clara May James Seago. Buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Charlotte, Section 6, lot 346, grave 4, in the James family plot.
