I know what you mean about hard drive crashes. That's why I have kept a lot of my research up here. It's sort of like a cloud for me - plus, I can use it away from home (-:

I became interested in family trees listening to the Sunday dinner conversations around my grandmother's table. Counting me, there were four (4) generations in regular attendance.
I learned so much, especially to expect great change during my lifetime, as I listened to men and women born within a decade of the end of the Civil War.
I've also learned, the hard way, to always make a hard copy of your data. Your hard drive WILL crash. It is a matter of when, not if.
You are probably here because you wondered about WikiTree.

I noticed you plan to or already uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to instructions on the step-by-step gedcom import at WikiTree , including screenshots that you might find helpful. You might also want to check out our gedom instructions
Please keep in mind that our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. Thank you for taking the time to go through your gedmatches at WikiTree when you upload your gedcom.
TIP: if your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on Wikitree.
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, here are a few more features you may find useful (links work from your profile page):
