Biography

Jesse was born in October of 1885. He was the son of James Kirkland and Delilah Chiles and he is listed with his parents on the 1900 Census in Monroe, Tennessee.^[1] He was first married to Susie Williams on May 20, 1906 and it is believed that they had five children.^[2] She passed away in 1916 and he was remarried to Katherine Jane Williams on April 21, 1918 in Blount, Tennessee.^[3] It is believed that he had at least nine children with Katherine and he is listed with her on the following census reports:

He passed away in 1955 at the age of 69.^[7] He is buried in Citico Baptist Church Cemetery in Vonore, Monroe County, Tennessee^[8]
