Biography

Peter "Horton" Kirkland was born in Arkansas in 1872 to Zachariah "Zach" Kirkland and Mary Ann (Bean) Kirkland. He is listed with his parents on the 1880 Census with two brothers in Bayou, Baxter, Arkansas.^[1] On March 8, 1891 he married Mary Ann Swafford in Ozark, Missouri.^[2] They are listed together on the following census reports:

He passed away in March of 1948 at the age of 75 in Baxter, Arkansas.^[8] He is buried next to his wife in Gassville Cemetery in Gassville, Baxter County, Arkansas.^[9]
