Allen A. Kirkland was born on February 2, 1871,[1] likely in West Isles, Charlotte County, New Brunswick.[2] He was the son of Charles Kirkland and Rachel Warman.
At the time of the 1871 Canada Census, the family was living in West Isles.[3] In 1880, they were in Hancock, Penobscot County, Maine.[4]
Allen married Iva Kenney on September 5, 1891.[5] Their daughter, Florence, was born in in 1894.[6] The family lived in LaGrange, Maine.[7] They had a 2nd child in on March 12, 1902,[8] but Iva died shortly after the birth.[9] It is uncertain whether the baby survived. If she did, she was not with Allen in 1910.
↑ Allen was 2 months old on the 1871 Census, at it states he was born in New Brunswick, as does the 1880 Census. Later sources say he was born in Maine, but New Brunswick seems more likely.
