Biography

Jane Kittow was born at Calstock, Cornwall in 1793 to William Kittow and Temperance Cornelius (1765-1842).

Her baptism took place in Calstock on 1 December 1793 [1]

Her siblings were also christened in Calstock, Cornwall [2]

Because Jane Tucker passed away in New Zealand in January 1883 aged 89,[3], this would place her birth in the range Jan 1793 - Jan 1794. This lends weight to the parents being William and Temperance Kittow.

There are additional sons as indicated in the death notices of sons John and George.

Note 1 AUCKLAND STAR, VOLUME XXXIV, ISSUE 305, 23 DECEMBER 1903 announces the death of John Tucker aged 74 (born about 1829) who is the 6th son of the late Edward and Jane Tucker.

TUCKER. — On December 10th. at Norfolk-st, Ponsonby, John Tucker, 6th son of the late Edward and Jane Tucker, aged 74 years.
