Christened: 20 JAN 1708, Wolfersweiler Rf, Oldenburg, Germany[citation needed]
Johannes Nicholas Klee married Lisa Margaretha Staudt on February 11, 1738.[1]
Johannes Nicholas Klee and his father-in-law arrived on North America on Sept. 3, 1739 after sailing on the Loyal Judith.[1] He took the oath of allegiance and was qualified on the same date. [2][3] Only males over the age of 16 were on the passenger list, females were not listed, nor were young children. [4]
Land Records
Three parcels of land were originally purchased in Lancaster County under the name of Nicholas CLAY on May 13, 1747 prior to the absorption of that area into Berks County upon it's formation.[5]
Nicholas Klee owned 100 acres of land as recorded for Margaret Klee in trust for her children in the warrant record books for Berks County, Pennsylvania. Two surveys are found for this property within the Pennsylvania Archives online land records. These land surveys show that Nicholas, Margaretha, and their children lived next to Margaretha's father, Abraham Stoudt.
Section 4 of this map shows the property location within Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Nicholas Klee of Bern Township, Berks County is listed as a being naturalized on 22 March 1761.[11][12][13]

The 'Other' Klee Family
There was another Nickel Klee (also listed as Johan Nicholas Klee) who came to America from Oberamt Lichtenberg Germany on Sept. 9, 1738 on the ship Glasgow, but this line moved down into the Carolinas and was apparently not related directly to the line established in Berks County, Pennsylvania.[20][21] This person is connected to Catharine (Unknown) Klee (-aft.1776) with 2 linked children.
There may be a 3rd family since there are 8 children connected to this person as father and Anna Elisabeth Grimm (1708-1776) as their mother. Anna is not connected to anyone as a spouse. The children will be unlinked from this profile.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Johannes by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Johannes:
