Biography
Catherine (Kline) Smeal was born in 1775 in Bradford Township, Clearfield, Pennsylvania, daughter of Barbara (Knapp) Kline (1755 - 1860).
Catherine married Nicholas Smeal (1752 - 1827) in 1799 in Centre, Pennsylvania. Their children were:
- Susanna L Smeal (1800 - 1881)
- Rebecca Smeal (1803 - 1880)
- John B. Smeal Sr. (1805 - 1885)
- Henry Smeal (1807 - 1897)
- Catherine Smeal (1808 - 1876)
- Christina Smeal (1810 - 1888)
- Elizabeth Smeal (1811 - 1871)
- Jacob Smeal (1816 - 1848).
Catherine died in 1824 in Bradford Township aged ~49. She is buried in Perks Cemetery, Morris Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
Problems
- She was probably not born in Bradford Township. Bradford Township did not exist until Aug 1807 and was first settled just before that time.
- There is no source showing that she died in Bradford Township. Troy Cemetery is in Morris Township close to the Centre Co. line.
