Mary Knapp was daughter of Henry Knapp [1]and his wife, Hester Clarke. [2]
On 25 August 1675, taking with her £4000, she married her first cousin once removed, Sir Richard Temple. [1] Richard was grandson and Mary was great granddaughter of Sir Thomas Temple Bart. and his wife, Hester Sandys. Mary was some seven months pregnant at the time of the wedding. [1] They were parents of 4 sons and 6 daughters. [1]
Richard died 10 May 1697 and was buried at Stowe. [1] Mary lived on until 1726 being buried on the 15th of May.[1]
Alive on 10 Mar 1686/7 when named as Mary in her husband Richard's Will and no reference to her being dead in any of the codicils the last being dated 12 Apr 1697 before a final bequest dated 1 May 1697.[3]
