Biography

A previous version of this profile claimed a subsequent wife, Jane Langeburne married in 1587, but that would be impossible because William died in early 1569/1570. His widow Elizabeth died a couple months later. This is all proved by his Will that probated April 1569/70:

This William and Elizabeth, even if I can't verify the wills, are clearly not the father of any child named Philip. Can we disconnect once again? Objections?

I'm puzzled. The links for "Father of" list sons William and Philip, yet the quoted will says the sons are William and Nicholas. Which is it? I'm interested in this one because it looks like I'm a descendant of Philip.

In his will dated 15th day of March Ao. Dmi. 1568 there is no mention of a second wife only Elizabeth his wife and 2 sons William and Nicholas. If he died in 1569 he could not have possibly married in 1587

Knight-5541 and Knight-193 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles seem to indicate the same person.

Profile managers might consider merging Knight-5541 and Knight-193.
