Joseph was born in Southampton in 1862. He was chrsitened on 1st June that year in St Mary's church, Southampton. His parents were George & Elizabeth Knight.[1]
In 1891, he is living in Chantry Road, Southampton with his wife and baby daughter, Alice.[2]
In 1901, he was still living in Southampton, a seaman and married with 4 children.[3]
