Prudence D Knight was born in Jefferson, now Maine, in 1817, the daughter of Daniel Knight and Phebe Brookings.
"John Hilton, Whitefield, and Prudence Knight, Jefferson, were married in Jefferson 7 Aug 1842." [1] They were the parents of four known children.
Prudence died in 1897 at the age of seventy-nine years, twelve days and is buried at the Noyes Cemetery, Whitefield, Maine.
Research Notes
According to her death record, her mother was Phoebe Dunton, born in Jefferson, Maine. This would likely account for Prudence's middle initial of "D".
There is also a discrepancy in her DOD as her death record states that she died on the 19th of March while the cemetery records reflecting the date engraved on her memorial stone is 17 Mar 1897. If the 17th is the correct DOD, then her DOB would be 5 Mar 1817.
