Biography
Silence was born about 1759. She is the daughter of Hazard Knowles and Margaret Congdon. Silence married Thomas S. Hazard in Rhode Island and heir children were all born there. About 1814 the family moved to Columbia, Connecticut. Silence died November 25, 1827, aged sixty-eight years.

Margaret Hazard, died October 20, I812.
Mary Hazard, married, June 22, 1807, John Knowles.
Stephen Hazard, married Abby Knowles, sister of John.
Rouse Hazard, married, and left several children.

Stanton Hazard, married Gridley.
Augustus George Hazard, born April 28, 1802; died May 7, 1868; married, July 24, 1822, Salome Goodwin Merrill.
