Robert was one of 2300 Massachusetts militiamen who participated in the 1690 Canada Expedition, a disastrous military campaign to seize Quebec from the French.
He made his will [1] on April 13, 1690, as he prepared to leave for Canada, where he names his brother Thomas as administrator and leaves bequests to Thomas, his brother Ezekial, and sisters Susanna and Deborah.
