Her body was interred JUN 1887 in Prospect Cemetery, Mansfield, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. She married Timothy Knowlton 6 JAN 1820 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. (Timothy Knowlton reference Covington) (Timothy Knowlton is #7779.) Timothy was born 2 JUL 1788 in Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Timothy was the son of Henry Knowlton and Sybil Wright*. Timothy died 16 AUG 1868 in Vineland, Cumberland County, New Jersey, at age 80. Timothy registered to pay taxes 1816 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Sullivan Township was formed in 1816. It was taken from Covington Township. Its original boundaries included the southern half of Rutland formed in 1829, and the northern part of Ward which was formed in 1852. Timothy was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Timothy was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Polly and Timothy were 30-40 and 40-50 respectively. The man 70-80 in the household is probably Timothy's father Henry Knowlton who died there in 1835. Four boys and a girl were their own children, ad another man 30-40 was in the household.

Timothy was a farmer with real property worth $2500 and personal property worth $650. Joshua Ingles was in thehousehold as a farm laborer. 1897 History page 1113- Timothy Knowlton was one of the pioneer settlers of Sullivan Township, where he located as early as 1812, purchasing 300 acres of land four miles east of Covington, the present townships of Covington, Richmond, and Sullivan cornering on his farm. At that time Sullivan Township was covered by the primitive forest, with here and there a clearing and a rude cabin. Timothy was unmarried at that time and his sister, Eunice, kept house with him. He went bravely to work to make a home, the forest gradually yielded to his industry, and cultivated fields took its place. His entire life in this county was spent in the peaceful pursuits of agriculture.

From material provided by Ms. Naglee of Elmira, author did not put name on work although heading is Blackburn and Gielens Attorneys at Law, 918-20 Puget Sound Bank Building, Tacoma, Washington - no date: Timothy's mother died when he was but five years old and he lived for several years in the family of Col. Matthew Scott who was kind to him, gave him a limited education and for whom he ever felt a kindly regard. In early manhood he went with his father and brother, Charles Wright KNOWLTON, to what is now Utica, NY, where the three labored at clearing a farm which the father had purchased. After forty acres had been denuded of its forest growth and prepared for tillage the property was lost under a foreclosure sale. This was about 1807. He spent the winter of 1807-08 with his father at Newtown, now Elmira, NY dressing flax. In the spring of 1808, with his father, he traveled on foot into what is now Tioga COunty, PA, and here he bought three hundred acres of land in the unbroken forest located in the Township of Sullivan, Richmond,and Covington, on what is known as State Road. On this property he settled and commenced making his home, and on January 6, 1820 married Polly Pitts. They at once commenced housekeeping in the home he had made and they lived on this farm forty four years. In 1864 he sold the old home and he and his wife went to live with their daughter Eliza Jane in Landis Township, New Jersey. He died August 16, 1868 and is buried in the cemetery at Vineland, N. J. Mansfield Advertiser Jun 1st 1887- Mrs. Polly Knowlton died Lambs Creek Monday age 91, born Ward massachusetts July 5th 1796, came here 1807 with father Hanover Pitts (and mother Mollie Cudworth-jmt) 1820 married Timothy knowlton, 9 children.
