Hannah (Knowlton) Baldwin was born in Massachusetts.
Hannah, likely the eldest daughter and third of eight children of Thomas Knowlton and Hannah Green was born say 1672 at Ipswich, Connecticut.[1]
Move to Connecticut
According to Baldwin, Benjamin and Hannah settled in Canterbury, Connecticut say 1700.[2]It is more likely that the family moved say 1702 given that the birth records for their first two sons, John and Benjamin indicate that they were born at Woburn, Massachusetts.
Marriage and Children
Hannah married Benjamin Baldwin, the son of Henry and Phebe (Richardson) Baldwin by 1697 at Woburn, Massachusetts.[3]
They had eight children.[4]John and Benjamin were born at Woburn, Massachusetts and the other six were born at Canterbury, Connecticut:
John Baldwin (b. May 1697; d. 6 Jul 1759, Canterbury, CT)[5]m. Mary Adams (1700-1767)
Benjamin Baldwin (b. 25 Oct 1701; d. 11 Dec 1759, Canterbury, CT)[6] m. 27 Apr 1724 at Norwich, CT, Elizabeth Longbottom (1697-1773)
Daniel Baldwin (b. 26 May 1705; d. 7 Nov 1781, Stafford, CT)[7] m. 1) 16 Nov 1730 at Canterbury, CT, Hannah Partridge (1712-1742); m. 2) Hannah Lyman
Ebenezer Baldwin (b. 4 Sep 1707; d. 1708, Canterbury, CT)[8]

Patience Baldwin (b. 4 Jan 1711/2; d. 1775 Goshen, CT)[10] m. 22 Jan 1734/5 at Ashford, CT, Joseph Russ Jr. (1710-1780)
Henry Baldwin (b. 15 Feb 1713/4; d. 8 Apr 1780, Lisbon, CT)[11] m. 21 Nov 1738 at Lisbon, CT, Mercy Read (1717-1781)
Hannah Baldwin (b. 25 Oct 1713; d. 2 Oct 1778, Canterbury, CT)
Death and Burial
Hannah (Knowlton) Baldwin died on 28 September 1736 in her 64th year at Canterbury. Her husband preceded her in death by a few months on 28 April 1736.[12]her burial details are not known; however, she has a Find-A-Grave memorial.[13]
Neither Baldwin,[15] nor Vinton[16]list Hannah's surname in their respective works.
Questions have been raised as to the veracity of Hannah Knowlton being a daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Green) Knowlton. A land abstract, however, supports the relationship, "[abstract - record partly damaged] Thomas Knowlton & his Children to Joseph Califfe...May 26 1698: Thomas Knowlton Sr. cordwainer of Ipswich, Thomas Knowlton Jr. his son, Benjamin Baldwine of Woob[urn?], Mary Knowlton of Ipswich, & said Thomas Sr. as guardian of Ebenezer & Patience (with consent of their now wives, viz Hanah now wife of sd Thomas Sr & Susanna now wife of Thomas Jr. & Hannah now wife of said Benjamin) to Joseph Califfe clothier of Ipswich for £147 -- a dwelling house & two barns & a shop & about one acres thereunto adjoining in Ipswich, bounded S'ly by highway, W'ly by land of Isaac Fellows formerly of Samuel Youngluffe, N'ly by land of George Hart, E'ly by land Nathaniel Rust Sr.; also recites that Deacon Thomas Knowlton late of Ipswich, dec'd conveyed the premises by deed of gift dated 3 Dec 1688 "unto Thomas Knowlton Cordwainer & now Senr of sd Ipswich & ye hiers of his body lawfully begotten"; executed 8 Feb 1697/8 in presence of J. [17]This passage identifies (among others) Deacon Thomas Knowlton of Ipswich, Thomas Knowlton Sr. of Ipswich & wife Hanah, Thomas Knowlton Jr. his son & wife Susanna, Benjamin Baldwin & wife Hannah, Mary Knowlton of Ipswich, & Thomas Sr. as guardian of Ebenezer & Patience.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hannah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Hannah:
This Hannah is proven as Benjamin Baldwin's wife by a Deed dated Feb 8, 1697 in which her father Thomas describes her as my daughter Hannah, now wife of Benjamin Baldwin. Essex County, Massachusetts Deeds, Book 13, Page 8. The Deed is the sale of the Knowlton home and land in Ipswich, MA. and Benjamin Baldwin signs off as well as all the Knowltons. After which most of the Thomas Knowlton family moved to Connecticut.
Not sure why the first two and the last of the children are not in the Canterbury record. Maybe they were still living in Ipswich when the first two were born? The missing record for Hannah (the youngest) is a real mystery.
Knowlton-575 and Knowlton-176 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, same marriage. If it's the same person, then let's work on one profile instead of three (there are 3 for her)
Knowlton-558 and Knowlton-176 appear to represent the same person because: There was a merge proposed from 558 into 575, but instead of doing that, all need to merge INTO 176, because it is the lowest number (there are 3 copies of this person on WikiTree).
It does seem likely that this profile is for the same person as Knowlton-575 (my second cousin 9 times removed) but in that case the date of death is essentially impossible.
Knowlton-575 and Knowlton-558 appear to represent the same person because: Same person but death year should be September 28, 1736 as shown in John Vinton's "Richardson Memorial" Posterity of Ezekiel Richardson, vol 1, pg 38

Hope that made sense : ) Thanks!
