Biography

Lyman was born in 1774. He was the son of Ezekiel Knowlton and Anna Miles. He passed away in 1832. [1]

Né à Templeton, au Massachusetts, en janvier 1774, fils d'Ezekiel Knowlton et d'Anna Miles.

Un des pionniers du canton de Stukely, où il s'établit en 1801; exploita un magasin et un moulin à farine. Fut juge de paix, major dans la milice (1806) et commissaire d'école (1815 ou 1816). Était universaliste.

Élu député de Shefford à une élection partielle le 23 novembre 1829; appuya le Parti patriote. Ne se serait pas représenté en 1830.

Décédé à Stukely-Sud, le 28 juillet 1832, à l'âge de 58 ans et 6 mois. Les obsèques eurent lieu à l'église épiscopale du canton de Shefford, le 30 juillet 1832.

Avait épousé à Templeton, au Massachusetts, le 17 décembre 1795, Tepha Whitcomb, fille de Joshua Whitcomb et d'une prénommée Eunice.

Cousin de Paul Holland Knowlton.[2]
