Andrew b. abt. 1559 Renfrew, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Some sources indicate a father of John Knox, other indicate a father of Uchtred Knox. This confusion seems to be an error in Genealogical Memoirs of John Knox and of the Family Knox where in one paragraph Uchtred is cited as the father and the next paragraph John is cited as the father. Other sources indicate just Uchtred as the father.[1]

After visiting his See, he wished to continue to be minister of Paisley and proposed the appointment of a colleague which was rejected by the Presbytery, the magistrates and inhabitants. I have seen Uchtred shown as 'Uchtred John Knox' in a few documents but I don't have access to those. I won't say this *is* his name and it would be foolish of me to say this is *the* Uchtred so-named as there are several Uchtreds. All I aim to do here is put this in as a possibility, nothing more.
