John was born in 1890. He was the son of Edward Knox and Mabel Wade. [1]
He passed away in 1967.
He fought in the Persian Gulf Campaign between 1911 and 1913. He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches. He was decorated with the award of the Croix de Guerre (avec palmes). He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy. He was Temporary Clerk to the Signet, Foreign Office between 1936 and 1940. He fought in the Second World War. He was decorated with the award of the Officer, U.S. Legion of Merit.[2]
