DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
Margaret Knox Harper's father William did NOT emigrate to or die in Massachusetts.... that is a totally different William Knox. Her father was William Knox just not the one that married Elizabeth Chubb in and of MA. The Massachusetts Knox family is a totally different line that the SC/NC Knox family but online trees keep putting their Massachusetts William in as Margaret's father.
