Biography

Sarah Knox, the daughter of Joshua and Hannah Knox, was born on 9 Sept 1808 at Gardiner, Kennebec, Maine.[1]

Thaddeus Hildreth married Sarah Knox on 2 May 1830 at Gardiner. The intentions for their marriage had been filed on 17 April 1830, also at Gardiner.[2] Based on US Census and other records, they had at least the following children born at Gardiner:.[3]

  • Frederick, b. 10 April 1833
  • Hiram Augustus, b. 2 Aug 1835 (1833?); d. 13 May 1851 (aged 15 years 9 months)[4]
  • Sara Elizabeth, b. 6 April 1840; m. Chas. J. Smith; d. 10 Jul 1902 at Gardiner[5]
  • Charles A., b. 22 Nov 1844

Sarah died on 16 Jan 1885. She is buried at the Libby Hill Cemetery, Gardiner, Kennebec County, Maine. She died at the age of 76 years and 7 months,[6] or 76 years, 4 months.[7]
