Biography

Charles Knyvett Esq was a son of Sir William Knyvet of Buckenham, Norfolk, by his 2nd wife, Joan Stafford, daughter of the 1st Duke of Buckingham and granddaughter of Joan Beaufort.

I don't know who Charles's 1st wife was, but his daughter Elizabeth (who would marry Richard Fitzwilliam Esq) was her child.

He later married (2nd) Anne Lacy, by settlement dated 26 April 1514, and had 3 sons and 3 daughters.

Charles was dead by 22 October 1528.

Will of Helen Harding Knyvet Brown

"The testatrix’ first husband, Richard Knyvet, was the eldest son of Charles Knyvet (died c.1528), esquire, by Anne Lacy (d.1562), the daughter of Walter Lacy. Richard Knyvet’s half-sister, Elizabeth Knyvet, married Richard Fitzwilliam (died c.1559), the brother of Lady Burghley’s mother, Anne Fitzwilliam." [1] [2]

The Bio lists the marriage to Anne Lacy as 26 Apr 1514. Can we get that added to the profile? I wonder if the first wife was Anne le Strange who was listed as marrying Edward Knyvet as her 2nd marriage, but maybe it was actually his brother Charles who she married. Edward Knyvett married Anne Calthorpe.
