Biography

Laurence was born in 1928. He was the adopted son of Raymond Maddox and Viola Fetty. His birth parents were Hollie Franck Krause (1907-1989) and Alice Camille Greenlee (1905-1933).

His siblings were:

  1. Carla Camille Willey Weber (1925-2000)
  2. Howard Neil Krause Storms (1931-2004)

He married Billie Louise Vandagriff, 27 Apr 1957.[1]

He passed away in 2013[2] and is buried in Linneus Cemetery, Linneus, Missouri.[3]

Laurence Randall Maddox, 85, of McAlester, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at home in Seattle, Wash. Burial will be at Linneus Memorial Cemetery in Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Columbia Funeral Home & Crematory of Seattle, Wash.
Born April 15, 1928, in Lee's Summit, Mo., he was the adopted son of Raymond Cecil Maddox and Viola Fetty Maddox of Linneus. He graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. and was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
During the Korean War he served in the United States Army Signal Corps engineering labs. He was honorably discharged in 1952. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy at Rolla, Mo.
He married Billie Louise Vandagriff on April 27, 1957, in Stroud. He worked for Dow Chemical Company in the North Sea, establishing an oil well servicing division in Germany, France and Holland. He was chief engineer for Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
In McAlester, he was employed as a weapons engineer for the Department of Defense, United States Naval Ammunition Depot, retiring in 1990. As a member of Grand Avenue Methodist Church, he served as Sunday school teacher, administrative board member, Methodist Men's Club and longtime head usher.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Randalee Louise Maddox and Doug Pardo, Seattle, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Nora Maddox, and two granddaughters, Hannah and Victoria Maddox, New Hope, Penn.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Alice and Hollie Krause; his foster parents, Raymond and Viola Maddox; a brother and a sister; a grandson, Grant Connor Maddox, and his wife, Billie Louise Maddox.

Note: Grant Connor Maddox (21 Mar 1995 - 24 Sep 1995).
