Biography

She was the daughter of Francis Kynaston of Pantabirsly in Shropshire, afterwards of Saull, Co. Down, and his wife Katherine Trevor, daughter of John Trevor, Esq., of Brynkynalt, Co. Denbigh.

Margaret married James Hamilton. ^[1]

The Hamilton Manuscripts note on Pg 164

Margaret Kynaston married James Hamiton, and that she was the daughter of Francis Kynaston, of Pontey Besley. Shropshire, and Saul, Co. Down, Esq., by his wife Catharine, sister to Sir E. Trevor.—See Mrs. Reilly's Memoirs, p. 88.

I am unable to find "Mrs Reilly's Memoirs" but the probate record of Francis Kinaston [Kynaston] of Saul, Co. Down, and the transcription of the will shows a daughter Susan Hamilton, not a Margaret Hamilton. I believe that this could be an error on the part of Mrs Reilly, and that the name of the wife of James Hamilton is Susan Kynaston.
