Biography

A. W. Pinson was born about 1843. He is first found living with the family of William and Nancy Lackey in 1850 in DeKalb County, Alabama. There it is reported that he was born in Alabama and he was blind. [1] Later records variously reported that he was born in Arkansas or Tennessee. His origins remain a mystery.

He married Susie E. Berry.[2][3] They had four children _______, Allen, James and Rosa.

He appears to have lived the remainder of his life in Alabama living in DeKalb, Marshall and Etowah Counties. While is wife is buried at McCauley's Chapel UMC Cemetery in Gasden, Alabama, so far no record of his death has been located.
