Wilson) Lackey family Bible. In it she found:

Samuel Lackey son of James

& Jane Winters Lackey was the father of John Lackey Father & Family herein

Recorded: Sarah Cline Lackey was the dau. of Sarah Carpenter Cline & David

Cline Lincolnton, NC & mother of John Lackey.' The Bible record firmly

establishes the relationship."

"At Knob Creek Cem. is buried Samuel & Sarah (Cline) Lackey, John &

Catherine (Mull) Cline, & Jacob Cline. In the same area is bur.

memory of David Kline died Decr. 20th 1828 Aged 62 years.' Space was left

for his wife's grave beside him, but I located no marker for her. Noe of

these Clines had been traced in Ciscero Cline's CLINE HISTORY. I was

faced with a dilemma: If David Cline died in Ga., who was the David Kline

at Knob Creek, b-1766, d-1828? My & Bob Carpenter's conclusion: Two David

Clines. The one buried at Knob Creek was the one who married Sarah Salome

Carpenter."
