Wedding.
McLEAN—LACKEY
The wedding was celebrated on Saturday, the 15th April, at St. James' Church, Guyra, of Nita, third daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Lackey, of "Aroona," Guyra, to Jack Alexander McLean, only son of Mr. J. McLean and the late Mrs. J. McLean, of 'Rosewood,' Black Mountain.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an all-lace over satin frock cut on classic lines — the only trimming being a single spray of orange blossom on each shoulder. Her cut tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orangc blossoms and a white satin ribbon strap. She carried an armlet of carnations, maiden hair fern and frangipanni (sic).
The bride was attended by the twin sisers of the bridegroom, Misses Enid and Elsie McLean, who preceded the bride up the aisle. They were daintily attired in shell pink frocks, with georgette cape effects, pink lace mittens, and caps of tulle and flowers. They carried armlets of gladioli and cactus dahlias, shaded from deep pink to cream.
The flower girl, Miss Hetty Harper (cousin of the bride), wore an apricot lace frock, with tiny lace bolero and lace mittens. She carried a posy of roscs and carnations.
Mr. Jim Youman was best man, and Mr. Ray Nevin groomsman.
During the signing of the register Mr. C. Wheaton sang "Passing By."
The witnesses to the signature of the bride and bridegroom were the aged grandmothers — Mrs. Lackey, senr., and Mrs. Saundcrs.
The reception was held at "The Arcadia," where the bride's mother assisted by Miss G. McLean, received the guests. Mrs. Lackey was attired in a black georgette and lace ensemble, with a smart black felt hat. She carried a posy of fuchsias and roses. Miss McLean wore a smart Burgundy morocain frock, with a wine felt hat. She carried a posy of cream and red baby roses. The happy couple motored to Sydney and the South Coast for the honeymoon, the bride travelling in a red mirak suit and small red felt hat.
Mr. and Mrs. McLean's future home will be at "Sel-el-Farra," Guyra.[3]
