He continued to live on this land and received an additional 130 acres by the will of his brother Constantine (see p. 9), so that at his death he owned 262 acres. AMOS LADD (see p. 9) received 130 acres in Goochland County on the lower branch of Beaverdam Creek in 1727 from his father see p. 9). He continued to live on this land and received an additional 130 acres by the will of his brother Constantine (see p. 9), so that at his death he owned 262 acres. He died unmarried, leaving a will which names as legatees his relatives. It was recorded in Goochland County, Mar. 20, 1780: In the name of God Amen - - I Amos Ladd of the Co. Charles Ladd believes Amos was born about 1715. The Douglas Register records that "Hemus (sic) Ladd's funeral" was preached on 16 Apr 1780.
