Ivan attended Carmen Schools and worked with his father in the family grocery store. Ivan moved to Waynoka in 1937 to be near his wife with the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a switchman, yardmaster and conductor of the Shattuck Branch before retiring in 1975. He was an avid gardener.

Son of Evander Thomas (E.T.) and Katie Belle (Lockhart) Fellingham.
